Garden Gnome Update

Last week I posted a pic of a garden gnome, buried to his neck in snow, that we saw on our nature walk looking for animal tracks. Since then we’ve had an extended run of warm ‘chinook’ weather, and we passed the same garden gnome on our walk this afternoon. What a difference a few days makes!

He’s a much more detailed and whimsical gnome than I was expecting, sitting on a tricycle with a frog on the handlebars. The kids loved him!

The other highlights of our walk were spotting a downy woodpecker in the trees in our front yard (apologies for the blurriness; I only had a very cheap pocket camera along and couldn’t get it to focus), and it being warm enough for Gareth to ride his trike, not something you see often in January around here:

Most of what I saw during the walk was this:

That’s Daegan running way in the distance, and Gareth toddling along behind. They raced each other for most of the walk. Gym today? Check! :-)

I love your gnome emerging from the snow pictures. He got his trike out just to follow along with your troops.
