Winnipeg the Bear (Winnie the Pooh)
Monday January 18th was A.A. Milne’s birthday, so I did a few Winnie the Pooh activities with the boys. We watched the classic The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, read bits from various books, and learned a bit about Winnie’s history. Did you know that Winnie is named after the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada? The boys were amused to find this out, as we have many relatives in that city, and visit there once an year or so. We read about how Winnie the Pooh got his name here and here. And watched the Canadian Heritage commercial about Winnie the Pooh that ran for years on Canadian TV: the “a part of our heritage” series.
