A to Zoo: Picture Books by Subject

Last week I was at the library doing some homeschool with Daegan while Gareth was at his Sportball class—you’ve never seen a 7-year-old work so efficiently, knowing that if he dawdles, there will be no time left for browsing dinosaur books! :-) On the sale table I found this awesome resource, published in 2006:

A to Zoo

The first half of the book lists children’s picture books by  topic; the second half provides an annotated bibliography, arranged by author. I figured these 1692 pages were worth the $7, but checked the entry on dinosaurs to be sure. It began here:

and ran for another couple pages, listing, by my rough estimate, at least a couple hundred books. This will keep my little bibliophiles happy for quite some time!

For my friend Alicia, who has a toddler currently quite keen on all things sheep, here’s a hundred or so titles that may be of interest:

sheep books, part 1

sheep books, part 2

Happy reading!
