Gareth’s Alligator

While Daegan and I worked on some math and his short story (coming soon!), Gareth—who now wants to be included and “do homeschool” too—asked to see the Draw Write Now books. He said he wanted to learn how to draw an alligator. I helped him find the correct book and page, and left him to it. He drew first in pencil, following the step-by-step instructions, and then went over his drawing in marker. I was quite impressed at the amount of effort he put in: the detailed texture on the alligator’s body, the background, the colouring, etc.

Here he is, colouring in the water, with the Draw Write Now book above:

Here’s the finished product:

Gareth's alligator

Gareth just saw me blogging, and wants you all to know that the green bumps in the water are nostrils from another alligator.

What a wonderful picture! Awesome job, Gareth. I’m very impressed with all the detail that you included. The other alligator hiding under the water is very clever.
