Park Day!

The boys and I met up with some homeschoolers on Wednesday at our local nature park, as the temperature climbed into the low 20s C (70s F). The boys told me they had a great time and want to do more homeschool park days. They spent their time doing many things. Writing in the dirt:

practicing his word families: B-A-T, C-A-T, etc.

Visiting with friends of all ages:

Daegan is fascinated by babies right now

Running, running, running, follow-the-leader style:

Gareth, with his asthma, is usually at the tail of the pack

A gaggle of boys having fun

Playing quiet, make-believe games with new friends (there was some kind of bank robbing scenario where the park bits—which they put in the empty containers—were coins, and the watering cans were piggy banks):

putting 'coins' into the 'bank'

Looking for bugs (yes, that’s Daegan):

nature boy later told me he was specifically looking for "interesting grubs"

And swinging barefoot in the sunshine.

Gareth loves to swing

happy boy!

Summer is coming!
