Bingo Dauber Art (Do-A-Dot Painters)

As the Homeschool Art class was cancelled this session due to low registration, Daegan has been asking me to do  more arts and crafts at home. I saw these ideas for “bingo dauber” art on my friend Alicia’s Magical Childhood blog a while ago, and showed it to the boys today. “Oh, yes, we’re interested!” was the enthusiastic reply. So we spent the latter part of the morning doing art—even me, the formerly art-phobic! Here’s some of our creations (hover your mouse over pics for details).

The boys made lots of dinos (no surprise!). Gareth started with a wax-resist crayon technique, and Daegan used a coffee filter to make a transfer print—entirely his idea:

We also made some plants:

my apple tree

Daegan's flower garden

And some other animals:

 my birdmy jellyfish

Some of Gareth’s dinosaurs turned out quite colourfully:

I tried my hand at some fruit, and Daegan followed suit (with better results!). We got grapes out of the fridge to try a “still life” style creation::

bingo dauber still life! (and WAY better than my bunch of grapes, IMHO)

more grapes, with their accompanying raisins. Can you tell this was right before lunch? :-)

Gareth continued making dinosaurs in a third style:

And Daegan’s art continued to suggest he was hungry for lunch! :-)

Have fun creating your own bingo dauber art!
