The Past Few Days (aka Ice Cream Maker Adventures)

Since I got an ice cream maker for Mother’s Day, we’ve been doing a whole lot of this:

Daegan watching strawberry ice cream being made

And this:

We had this ice cream for breakfast on Mother's Day. Went well with the French toast. :-)

And especially this:

Daegan enjoying his strawberry ice cream, his fave flavour

Gareth enjoying the raspberry sorbet

The ice cream maker has been in almost constant use, actually:

So tonight the boys had lots of energy to do this:

Gareth on a breakaway

Daegan, in centre, one of many trying to get the ball

We were all so grateful to get out on a sunny evening, after both sessions of soccer were cancelled last week due weather like this:

Expect lots of ice cream recipes over the next little while as I customize and perfect some flavours. The boys sure are enjoying helping me. Gotta love these “math” and “science” lessons of homeschool, eh? :-)

Very sweet, and I’m not talking about the ice cream. I’ve just started making home made ice cream with a White Mountain hand crank machine and the kids think it’s awesome.

If you don’t make your own ice cream you should give it a try. Here’s an interesting article I found that might be helpful to folks thinking about making their own.
