About Me
I’m a vegetarian, homeschooling Mom of two young boys in Calgary, Alberta, living with my wonderful and hardworking self-employed hubby Jim. We homeschool using a relaxed, eclectic approach; our guiding educational principle is “offer, but don’t force.” We incorporate many of the local natural resources (dinosaurs, birds, insects, mountains, prairie) into our homeschooling, and read bajillions of books. My passions include math, science, gardening, personal finance, comedy and travel. In my previous life (before kids!) I studied philosophy, and worked in the book publishing industry, as well as a teacher and tutor—I’ve taught from kindergarten to university.
